The Igbaro Oteshade Royal Family of Oko Addo, in Lagos, Wednesday called on Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, and the states Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice, to stop Emeka John Onugha from intruding on their land.

Disclosing this in a press release obtained by Vanguard, Prince Malik Oteshade, alleged that the record copies of Plans Nos. DHC/2266/AO45/2016/LA, DHC/AO44/2016/LA and DHC/2266/AO43/2016/LA all dated 29th June, 2016 respectively, said to belong to Emeka were not lodged as required by law.
Again, he said that the record copy of Plan No. TEO/2225/003P/2016/LA dated 22nd February, 2016 also in favour of Emeka was also not lodged. Prince Malik, therefore averred that the said land which is located at Oko Addo Village, Eti-Osa Local Government Area, Lagos State, was fully excised in favour of the Family in September, 2015 vide a publication from the Lands Bureau pursuant to our client’s application for excision in File No. KL10255.

He accused Emeka of obtaining false documents with the help of some alleged officials of the lands Bureau. His words: “The Igbaro Oteshade Royal Family of Oko Addo, from time immemorial are the beneficial owners of the parcel of land situated at Oko Addo Village, Eti-Osa Local Government Area, Lagos State. The said parcel of land was fully excised in favour of the Family in September, 2015 vide a publication from the Lands Bureau pursuant to our client’s application for excision in File No. KL10255. “The Family has been in quiet and unencumbered possession of the said parcel of land until lately when one Emeka John Onugha who claimed he got title from the Odugbesan Aberoje Family of Ajah began to forcefully trespass on the land. The Family petitioned the Inspector General of Police, Lands Bureau and the Office of the Suveryor General, Lagos State wherein the Family’s title to the land was affirmed.

“The report of the Investigation Activities from the Office of the Surveyor General dated 24th January, 2018 showed that Plans with nos. LS/D/LA1412A; LS/D/LA3849 and LS/D/LA3806 dated 18th December, 2003, 29th January, 2016 and 22nd September, 2015 respectively in favour of the Oteshade Family were approved Plans from the Office of the Surveyor General. “The Investigation Activities further showed that the record copies of Plans Nos. DHC/2266/AO45/2016/LA, DHC/AO44/2016/LA and DHC/2266/AO43/2016/LA all dated 29th June, 2016 respectively, said to belong to Emeka John Onugha were not lodged as required by law. Further, the report showed that the record copy of Plan No. TEO/2225/003P/2016/LA dated 22nd February, 2016 also in favour of Emeka was also not lodged.

“Curiously, the area covered by the four Survey Plans aforementioned and said to belong to Emeka John Onugha largely falls within the excised twenty hectares in favour of the Oteshade Family as shown in Plan Nos. LS/D/LA1412A; LS/D/LA3849 and LS/D/LA/3806 dated 18th December, 2003, 29th January, 2016 and 22nd September, 2015. “However, Emeka John Onugha has maneuvered his way and probably in conspiracy with some officials of the lands Bureau procured two Certificates of Occupancy Nos. 39/39/2017AG and 29/29/2017AG with the same defective Plan Nos. TEO/2225/003P/2016/LA and DHC/2266/AO43/2016/LA with threats now to demolish structures that are sitting on the area covered by these fraudulent Certificates of Occupancy. “Like a land grabber that he clearly is, he has extended his encroachment to the Ogidan Family land where he is claiming almost every undeveloped plot of land. “In his desperate bid to grab as much parcels of land as possible, Emeka John Onugha has been on a forum-shopping spree but never likes the courtroom.

“We sympathize with those who bought our family land from Emeka as they can never take possession/ownership of same. You can’t give what you don’t have! “We reiterate that Oteshade Family will never negotiate its land title with anybody. We advise Emeka John Onugha to stop parading those defective and incompetent certificates of occupancy. “A Certificate of Occupancy issued on a duly excised land will never stand, let alone one that is not only fake but also was fraudulently obtained. “We therefore call on the Governor of Lagos State, particularly the Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice of the State to stop Emeka John Onugha from using their offices to perfect his fraudulent activities. “We also enjoin them to retrain Emeka from forum-shopping and compel him to face his criminal trial in court. We also call on Lands Bureau to call its officials to order.”
