A Lagos lawmaker, Mr Setonji David, on Tuesday appealed to the Federal Government to repair the failed portions on the Lagos-Badagry Expressway.
David, Chairman of the Lagos State House of Assembly Committee on Physical Planning and Urban Development made the appeal while speaking with newsmen in Lagos.
He said that the expressway had collapsed.
According to him, Lagos residents face hardships plying the road to conduct their socio-economic activities.
“Lagos-Badagry Expressway is in a state of disrepair. It is unfair for the Federal Government to abandon a road that is an international road.
“The government is making millions of money from customs and excise duties on a daily basis through the use of the road,” he said.
The lawmaker also appealed to the minister of works, power and housing to give attention to the road to ease the hardship on the road.
He urged the minister to direct the Federal Road Maintenance Agency and other relevant agencies to commence work on the road.
The lawmaker also urged Gov. Akinwunmi Ambode to provide more schools and infrastructure in Badagry. (NAN)
