Operatives of the Lagos State Task Force dislodged diesel bunkers and destroyed over 2 million litres of mixed diesel around Coker, by Diamond Bank, Orile, Lagos
 
The operations was carried out based on series of petitions submitted to the Office of the Chairman of the Lagos Stats Task Force SP Olayinka Egbeyemi.
SP Egbeyemi who is currently on a Traning Course in America however directed his Second in Command a Deputy Supritendent of Police (DSP) Wilson Alaba to lead  the operations.
Petitions from members of the public to the Lagos State Task Force detailed that due to the high increase in the cost of a litre of Diesel Oil  some people were buying tankers of diesel oil and mixing it with kerosene around Orile.
25 containers with 5000 litre of mixed diesel oil eack and more 4500 kegs of missed diesel oil were destroyed by the Agency.
Residents around the area disclosed that those bunkers have been operating around the area for over 7 years.
A tricycle operator around the area Mr Salami Ogunsanya said those engaged in the illegal business have been buying original 33000 litre of diesel everyday and mixing it with kerosene to double the tanker capacity ( 66000 littes).
He confirmed that he closes 7pm on daily basis because once it’s night miscreants and hoodlums  who engaged in this illegal business robbed innocent members of the public of their valuables.
Mr Ogunsanya and other residents around the area expressed happiness and thanked the Lagos State Task Force for their prompt interventions.
They however commended the Governor of Lagos State Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode for his efforts at providing enough security for lives and properties of the citizenry.
Meanwhile, the operatives of the Lagos State Task Force during the 3rd Quarter of this year (July, August and September ) impounded 3480 motorcycles plying restricted routes across the State.
Also 5890 miscreants and hoodlums were arrested out of which 1500 were screened out and 4390 prosecuted.
