The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Lagos Chapter has congratulated Mr. Ayodele Ojo and Mr. Paul Erewuba on their victory as Chairman and Vice Chairman of Nigeria Union Journalists, The Sun Chapel.

An elated the Lagos SWAN chairman, Mr Debo Osundun in his congratulatory message, urged the elected members to be a good ambassador of the association.

His words: “We congratulate the NUJ The Sun Chapel on a successful elections of the new executives. We however urged our members that are elected to be good ambassadors of the association.”

Ojo, an award winning photojournalist in an election supervised by Lagos NUJ Chairman, Dr. Quasim Akinreti defeated Vivian Onyebukwa by 32 to 19 votes.

Mr. Erewuba, also a seasoned sports writer emerged vice chairman of the chapel as an unopposed candidate.

Other elected executive members of The Sun Chapel are; Ms Doris Obinna (Secretary), Mr. Braide Damiete (Assistant Secretary),

Mr. Wale Banjo (Financial Secretary), Mrs. Chinelo Obogo (Treasurer) and Mrs Bimbola Oyesola (Auditor).
In his inaugural speech, the new sworn in chairman promised of transparency and accountability in administering the activities of the chapel.

“We promised to take the chapel to greater heights in the next few years and we would be open in our administration.
“For us the victory is for everybody as there is no victor, no vanquish,” Ojo stated.
