As Glo Laffta Fest train moves to Kubwa, a suburb of Abuja today, the Lagos edition held at Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island last Sunday, could be described as hugely successful.

Indeed, a staccato of laughter hallmarked the show that was attended by top-notch celebrities led by the Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism, Alhaji Lai Mohammed and Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Steve Ayorinde.

Top comedians who entertained included Princewill, Frank D Don, Bash d Cash, Arinze Baba, Dan D’Humorous, I go Dye and Gordons. There was also Salvador from Uganda. Like it happened in other editions, up-and-coming comedians such as Kemex, MC Medical, Koye from Rock City and the duet called British Pastors gave show-stopping performances that elicited appreciative applause from the guests, which included Nollywood stars like Funke Akindele, Richard Mofe-Damijo, Adekola Odunlade and Omawumi Megbele.

All the comedians kept the audience reeling with laughter and glued to their seats with riveting jokes. Arinze Baba’s rendition of Senator Dino Melayé’s viral Yoruba song, ‘Ajekun Iya Ni o Je’ in Igbo language supported by the Disc Jockey resonated with the audience, eliciting more uproarious laughter. Salvador equally caused an uproar poking fun at Nigerian music and movies, which he said are highly sought-after in his home country, Uganda.

Widely regarded as Nigeria’s biggest comedy concert, Glo Laffta Fest is currently on a 27-city nationwide tour.

Other cities that will host the show in the weeks ahead are Makurdi, Ikeja, Ikorodu, FESTAC, Ajah, Suleja, Ibadan, Kano, Port Harcourt, Lokoja, and Anyigba.
