All is now set the 2017 edition of Lagos State Taekwondo Classics holding from Nov 23-25 at the Sir Molade Okoya Thomas multipurpose Hall of the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos.
Chairman of the Main Organising Committee, Jimmy Ogunowo who is also the chairman of the Lagos state Taekwondo Associatuion made this known while speaking during the Grand Master Koffi Anani’s kiddies championship held at the Lagos state Sports complex, Rowe Park Sports Centre Yaba, Lagos. He stated that all logistics that will aid the successful hosting of the championship are already in place awaiting the start-off date.
Ogunowo further hinted that his MOC is planning for a refresher course and seminar for all the technical officials ahead of the championship. The seminar which will be conducted by a foreign expert, is aimed at updating the knowledge of the technical officials with the latest rules governing the sport in order to minimize mistakes and at the same time avoid controversies, he stated.
With teams coming from Ghana, Senegal, Mali, Seychelles and Benin Republic expected to start arriving Lagos on Wednesday being November 22, 2017, the chairman assured that adequate security arrangement is already in place to guaranty their safety.
He thanked all their sponsors and commended the various Committees put in place for working round the clock as to ensure that the Taekwondo classics is hitch free.
