Former Super Eagles coach Lars Lagerbäck has been appointed the new manager of the Norwegian National Team, writes the official website of the Football Association of Norway (NFF).

Lagerbäck, who coached Nigeria at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, has also managed the Swedish and Iceland national teams.

“This is a challenge that really motivated me. Achievements and results so far in the World Cup qualifiers have not been good, ” said Lagerback.

The 68-year-old Lagerback has signed a contract that will run out in 2019, and will be in the dugout when Norway tackles Northern Ireland in a World Cup qualifier on March 26.
