The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) yesterday said it has been vindicated over an alleged abduction and killing of Hausa/Fulani herdsmen in Abia State by the Department of State Security (DSS).

The group said their vindication came following a revelation by Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State and others  that the said Hausa/Fulani herdsmen were abducted and killed by kidnappers in the area.

A statement by the Media and Publicity Secretary of IPOB, Mr. Emma Powerful said  no amount of false accusations or fire brigade efforts to quench them, when they backfire, can stop their march to freedom.

“While these people continue to make public fool of themselves, the world awaits season two of this epic movie. No amount of false accusations or fire brigade efforts to quench them, when they backfire, can stop our march to freedom. God is with us and freedom remains our goal.

“A grave allegation of killing in cold blood and burying five Northerners was heaped on the IPOB by the DSS. Nigerians from the six geo political zones and foreigners alike, screamed foul. As the world reflects on the implications of this epic movie on our consciousness, the 22 million IPOB faithful from Benue to Delta, from Kogi to Bayelsa and beyond, plead with the international community to kindly and quickly investigate the corpses (if any) found by the DSS and conduct a thorough DNA coroner inquest, just to confirm to the world, what we have always known, which is; that God, the creator of Heaven and Earth, will certainly expose the remaining corpses of the over 200 IPOB  members killed between November 2015 and February 10, 2016,” powerful insisted.

Meanwhile, Aka Ikenga has demanded autopsy on the corpses of alleged five Hausa/Fulani  herdsmen uncovered by the DSS.

The group said it was disturbed on how the DSS concluded  that the discovered corpses, which had decomposed were those of the Fulani herdsmen.

Aka Ikenga said “the whole story lacked in authenticity and depth. This is because, without an autopsy, there is no way DSS could have identified the victims…”

Another group, Youths for New Igbo Agenda and Interest (YONIAI) has joined others  to berate the DSS) over its report of the killing of five herdsmen in a forest in Abia State.

In a statement by its president, Kalu Igbe Ebem, YONIAI said it was unfortunate that DSS could express such level of insensitivity to the security of the nation by churning out such biased, false and unintelligent report that was capable of dragging the nation into chaos.

YONIAI said there was no doubt that the DSS was shopping for evidence with which to prosecute the IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu, who is standing trial, but stated it was the most wicked thing to do to put the lives of so many Nigerians on the line in a bid to nail just one man.
