Veteran actor, Kanayo O. Kanayo (KOK), last Saturday lived up to his role as a grandiloquent character in the TV drama series, Professor Johnbull, as he mesmerised the crowd with diction laced with verbosity at the Glo Mega Music Nationwide Tour held in Kubwa, FCT.

The theatre icon, who made celebrity appearance at the show alongside Richard Mofe-Damijo (RMD) and Sani Danja, was at his bombastic element. He got the audience reeling in laughter as he went into a long stretch of  ‘grammar’ while acknowledging them.

After he was introduced by the anchors, Juliet Ibrahim and Uche Jombo, KOK went on to say: “I am flabbergasted and perpetually overwhelmed to be part of this Globacom entertainment brouhaha which I know will make all of you petrifiedly entertained. This is indeed an entertainment voyage, expedition, cruise and glide. I enjoin all of you to be immersed, engrossed, absorbed and wrapped up in the fun to come.” And the crowd chorused:  “Professor Johnbull!”

Marvin Records’ protégé, Korede Bello, who performed after Katch, surprised the crowd when he announced that the day was Runtown’s birthday. The artiste came up on stage and Uche Jombo, accompanied by Juliet Ibrahim, brought a cake to the stage to celebrate the birthday boy. KOK and RMD also joined in the cutting of the cake.

Runtown, who was pleasantly surprised by the show of love by the stars and the applause from the crowd, promised to be ‘mad over’ everybody in his performance. He delivered all his tracks with utmost dexterity, and commended Korede Bello, who in the course of the performance of his Godwin track, doled out N200,000 to three Glo subscribers who danced perfectly to the rhythm of the track.

Olamide Baddo headlined the show and it paraded the likes of Yemi Alade, Phyno, and Kiss Daniel, with DJ Nana taking charge of the jukebox.

The next edition of the show takes place tomorrow in Kaduna, and Globacom subscribers wishing to attend the show are expected to use up to N2000 credit for voice and data and send SMS “MUSIC KADUNA” to a short code 207.
