Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi State has disclosed that his administration would access 60 million dollars loan from World Bank for the construction of about 500 rural roads network across the state.

Governor Bagudu stated this, on Wednesday, when he received Emir of Yauri, Dr. Muhammdu Zayyanu who paid him a courtesy visit in Birnin-Kebbi.

The governor said that the state government had paid its counterpart fund of the projects.

He explained that the project was designed to transform rural areas and ease transportation difficulty among the rural dwellers.

Governor Bagudu informed the traditional ruler that  his administration  would participate in the construction of the dilapidated Jega- Koko -Yauri federal road by scrapping the road as agreed upon with the contractor on site.

According to him , “The government has already released N374 million for the completion of Yauri Power Sub- Station as well as the repairs of Yauri-Birnin Yauri to Zuru Power lines to actualize uninterrupted electricity supply.

“On the problem of signal transmission of our state television, I assure you that  the problem will soon be over as my administration has released N700 million

for the contract to digitalize the television station including Yauri, Zuru and Koko Sub- stations which started test transmission.”

The Governor disclosed that he had  ordered the release of money for the immediate evacuation of trees and other obstacles along water ways in Yauri Emirate to pave way for smooth marine transportation and to avoid frequent boats mishaps in the area.

Earlier, the Emir appealed to the governor to rescue the people of his  emirate and its environs from lack of potable water supply, good roads and electricity.

In the words of the Emir, “I am here to show solidarity and for the incessant complaints I receive from my subjects of the problem of potable water supply, electricity and roads,” .
