Christian leaders in Kano State, on Thursday, held a 2-hour prayer session for the restoration of the health of President Muhammad Buhari and his safe return to Nigeria from London.
The leaders, who were selected from the five different blocks of the Christian Association of Nigeria, (CAN) Kano State Chapter(Catholic Church, PFN/CPFN, CCN, OAIC, and ECWA/TEKAN) converged at the Calvary Life Assembly, situated at No-Mans Land in the state capital.
Also in attendance session were the Chairman of the state chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Bishop Ransom Bello, his deputy, Apostle General Isaac Bello and the Secretary, Reverend Fika Jen, among others.
Speaking to reporters after the session, Bishop Bello explained that they convened the session out of their sincere concern for the health of the President and in obedience to the scriptural injunction asking Christians to pray for their leaders.
Bishop Bello told reporters that, “Our prayer was borne out of our concern about his health. We are, as Nigerians, touched by the fact that our President is not well and we prayed to God that he regains his health. We believe most sincerely that when the leader is sick, it is like the whole nation is also sick.”
“We asked God for his healing, his restoration and his eventual return to Nigeria to assume the leadership of the country” he said while encouraging Christians in the state to pray for the President.
Bishop Bello said that they also prayed for the Governor of Kano State, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje and the state in general adding that the session offered an opportunity to pray for the Nigeria state, for peace and stability and for the recovery of the country which had not done well in the recent times.
It could be recalled that a few days ago, a select number of Muslim faithful in the state, who were led by the Governor of the state, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, gathered to offer similar prayers for the health of President Muhammd Buhari at the Government House in the state.
