The Kano State Government has reaffirmed its willingness to support and strengthen the ongoing State and Local Government Reform Projects with a view to ensuring its effective implementation in the state.

Kano State Deputy Governor, Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gwauna, gave the assurance during a courtesy call by a delegation of the Reform Project.

Gawuna stressed that the state government would leverage on every opportunity to derive the full benefits of the program before it winds up in a year’s time.

Gawuna, who said the administration of Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje would continue to ensure proper coordination and cooperation among the benefiting states, requested the delegation to outline their areas of need towards the full implementation of the programme.

He implored them to consider the extension of the programme and the provision of additional finance for the program even as he charged them to indicate same in their review report.

He stated that the state was already implementing similar projects under the charges of the Fadama programme and the Commercial Agricultural Development Project.

Earlier, the task team leader Mr. Ekechukwu Ewenze, informed the deputy governor that they were in his office to discuss the potential benefits accruable to the state in the wake of the full implementation of the programme in the state.

Ewenze maintained that one of the aims of the State and Local Government Reform Projects was aimed to support easy administration and effective governance in Nigeria.End.
