Kaduna State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has endorsed the duo of President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Nasir El-Rufai for the 2019 elections.

This, they said, was done without prejudice to the rights of other party members to seek these offices in 2019.

The endorsement was done at a stakeholders meeting with party executives from the 255 electoral wards, at the weekend and

In a commumique issued at the end of the meeting, it was also resolved  that there is only one APC leadership in Kaduna, under the leadership of Acting Chairman, Alhaji Shuaibu Idris.

   The communique was signed by Deputy Speaker, Kaduna State House of Assembly, Hon. Yahaya Baba Pate, Hon. Samaila Suleiman, member representing Kaduna North Federal Constituency, Hon. John Audu Kwaturu, Acting Secretary, APC Kaduna State, and Lanti Halima Hyet, former IMC Chair, Jaba LGA.

  The stakeholders also resolved to pursue genuine reconciliation with aggrieved members who, despite their grievances, had shown deep commitment to the progress and stability of the party in the state.

El-Rufai, Hunkuyi, senator representing Kaduna North Senatorial District, members of the House of Representatives, the House of Assembly and political appointees, at both federal and state levels, were all in attendance when the endorsement was done.

Idris, who presided over the meeting, thanked members of the national and state assemblies, party executives at the state, zonal, local government and ward levels, former and serving lawmakers and appointees for standing by the party in “overcoming threats to its unity and progress.”

   He said party supremacy was non-negotiable, affirming that the party will discipline and sanction members that are working against the APC’s progress and unity.

“The acting chairman disclosed that the party will continue to operate an open-door policy and warmly embrace all members who accept its discipline and uphold its manifesto.

“Governor El-Rufai took time to interact with party members and answer questions put to him on government policies and actions.

“The governor thanked party leaders and members for their efforts.

“He assured the meeting that the APC government of Kaduna state will not compromise on its commitment and dedication to improving education, health security, infrastructure and agricultural development in addition to education and health as part of the APC mandate.

“The governor appealed for continued unity in the party and urged members to forgive one another and forge ahead,” the communique stated.
