In a press statement signed by the Chairman and Secretary of the party, Hon Johnson Olorunda and Gabriel Ayodele Ojo, the party said Smart Adeyemi, former chairman of the Federal Capital Territory committee has made huge investment in the PDP and has empowered several members of the constituency  and he remains an asset to the PDP in Kogi State.

“ We want to use this medium to appeal to our members who have inundated us with several calls, where they expressed fears that Senator Adeyemi may defect to the APC, to relax their nerves as there is nothing as such.

“Since the Sixth Senate,  Adeyemi was a frontline member of PDP and remains a dynamic leader whose record of achievements remain unbeatable as a single individual who has empowered over 20,000 people while in office, and even now, out of office

“With his huge investments and party benevolence which include constituents’ empowerments, payment of bursary allowance to hundreds of students, community development efforts, Senator Adeyemi remains a strong pillar and a leading light who will not leave his people behind and defect to the APC.

“Therefore, on behalf of the entire members of Kabba- Bunu Local Government chapter of the  PDP, we salute your concern over this rumour and reiterate our stand, that senator  Smart Adeyemi, being the captain of the ship (in the western senatorial district) , will not abandon the ship midway in the voyage,” the statement added.
