From Ighomuaye Lucky, Benin
The remains of the late Justice Andrews Otutu Obaseki were yesterday interred in his compound at Idahosa Street, Benin City, the Edo State capital.
He was committed to mother earth at 12:15pm with his children and nephew, the governor of Edo State, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, performing the dust-to-dust ritual on him.
Earlier, a requiem mass was held in his honour at St. Peter’s Anglican Church, Benin.
In a homily delivered by the Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Benin, Rt. Rev. Dr. Peter Imasuen, he said Justice Obaseki was a man of truth and humility, who lived a life worthy of emulation while on earth and also impacted meaningfully on those who acrossed his path.
He also described the late Justice of the Supreme Court as a man who placed premium on education and also had value for the things of God.
Bishop Imasuen therefore, urged his children to emulate the good quality life style of their late father.
In his remarks, Justice Obaseki’s eldest son, Edosa Obaseki, said their late father was a man with a thankful heart who appreciated every little thing done or given to him.
