There was a mild drama on the floor of the Senate, on Wednesday, when Sen. Sunday Ogbuoji rescinded his earlier decision to defect to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

Sen. Ogbuoji had, at the commencement of the day’s legislative business, announced that he was ditching his Peooples Democratic Party (PDP), to join APC. His announcement was greeted with a lot of uproar.

For over 10 minutes, Senate President Bukola Saraki, who presided, could not call lawmakers to order. While APC members made an attempt to usher Ogbuoji to their side, PDP senators protested.

After the mild drama, Ogbuoji, recanted. Instead, he said was putting his defection on hold, to allow him make further consultations with the leadership of the PDP.
