Jubril Martins Memorial Grammar School, Iponri has emerged winners of this year’s edition of PUMA 7-Aside football tournament for secondary schools in Lagos state.
The Jubril Martins lads claimed victory after beating hosts and defending champions, Whitesand school 6-1 in the final played at the Whitesand School, Lekki, just as Dowen College defeated Atlantic Hall 3-1 to pick bronze.
Speaking on the tournament, Head of Brand, Persianas Retail Ltd, Puma official Franchisee in Nigeria, Aderemi Adefolabi, said the inclusion of eventual winners, Jubril Martins and Keystone College was good for the competition and the organisers are excited about the development.
“Jubril Martins Memorial Grammar School winning the competition will put other teams on their toes to put more effort in the next edition of the tournament. Hopefully, we will have more schools participating in the competition next year as it is our plan to make the tournament bigger and give students opportunity to showcase their skills,” she assured.
