The Guardian Jacob Zuma, the president of South Africa, has resigned after days of defying orders from the ruling African National Congress to leave office and on the eve of a no-confidence vote in parliament. In a televised address to the nation late on Wednesday, the 75-year-old said he was a disciplined member of the ANC,…
I am starting this second article in the series by dealing with the accusations and insinuation of bias and tribalism leveled against me by three rabid supporters of ex – President Goodluck Jonathan in their reaction to last week’s column. I have to do so for my critics and for the others who may share their opinion, to know that I have nothing against their man and that contrary to their belief that he is not the only former Head of State I had written about. Because I had published articles about former President Olusegun Obasanjo (1999 – 2007) and Generals Ibrahim Babangida and Abdulsalami Abubakar who administered the country from 1985 – 93 and 1998 – 99 in the sequential order I have put the dates.
As national leaders I always have the duty to comment on some of the things they said or did. Especially if their statements and actions are contrary to God’s laws and orders in the Holy Bible or Koran and are therefore sinful. I am also bound to write about them when the Lord talks with me about the elections they took part in or are to be involved with or something they did. Or as in the case of Generals Abubakar and Babangida, when He sent me to convey His messages to them on national affairs in 1999 and 2001 respectively.
Many a reader may remember my column of January 21, 2015 titled: “My discussion with God on 2015 poll,” in which I wrote that the Lord was not for either President Jonathan or General Buhari, the two leading candidates and that the one who would win the election would be the person most voters preferred. Chief Ebenezer Babatope, a member of the Board of Trustees of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and Mr. Jimmy Johnson (Okoro on NTA’s rested Village Headmaster drama series), are alive to confirm that I told them separately in December 2014 that Dr. Jonathan would not be re – elected. And that if they had anything to get from him or his government they should do so before the poll, otherwise they would regret not doing so.
Already the Heavenly Father has sent me to His anointed one to replace President Buhari on May 29, 2019. It is only if the man, a northerner, ignores the Lord’s message from me to him that he would not win the poll and that Buhari may return for a second term, if he seeks re – election and wins or be succeeded by another person.
As I revealed in a series in 2011, it was because General Babangida disregarded the message of the Ancient of Days I conveyed to him in Minna in July 2001 to contest the presidential poll in 2003 that made the Lord cause Obasanjo to return for a second term. It was also that action of Babangida in 2001, that made him fail to be selected by northern PDP leaders as their region’s candidate to face President Jonathan, a southerner, for the 2011 primaries of their party. He lost to former Vice – President Atiku Abubakar by one vote.
I now come to giving the lie to the claims of Port Harcourt – based Emma (090 – 9944 – 4918) and the owners of GSM numbers 070 – 8441 – 6132 and 080 – 6812 – 5173 that I dislike Dr. Jonathan and as a result he is the only former Head of State I write about critically. My first article on the Otuoke, Bayelsa State – born ex – president was the one published on June 30 and July 7, 2010 with the headline: Jonathan think twice, wait for 2015. It was not a piece in which I criticized him, but one of an advice that he should not seek re – election after serving out the last one year of his late boss, President Umaru Yar’Adua on May 28, 2011.
This is because if he used the power of incumbency to become the candidate of the PDP he would be denying the North the opportunity to have a second term as did the South when Obasanjo was president for eight years from 1999 – 2007. A development that would be against the zoning policy incorporated into their party’s constitution on December 2, 2002 to ensure fair – play and justice. And which would also be a sinful act as stated in last week’s column because he would be disobeying God’s order in the Bible Books of Numbers 30:9 – 11, Psalm 15:4 and Proverbs 6: 1- 2, that one must always respect agreements and promises. Is it not obvious in Joshua 9:1 – 21 and Nehemiah 5:1 – 14 that anyone who flouted the divine injunction on accords and pledges would be punished by the King of kings. And, indeed, as can be seen in 2 Samuel 21: 1 – 14 it was the reason why God caused seven of the eight male descendants of King Saul to be handed over by King David to the Gibeonites for hanging, for violating the agreement their ancestors reached with the leaders of the Israelites that they would not attack them (Joshua 9: 1 – 21).
