Job creation: FG pledges support for private sector

The Federal Government, on Monday, expressed its political will and commitment to job creation and business employment through private sector oriented programs.

Minister of State for Environment, Ibrahim Jibril, who was represented by Permanent secretary in the ministry, Shehu Ahmed, stated this in Abuja, at an induction training workshop for newly recruited staff of the ministry.

The minister said the course objective of the training was to acquaint and expose the new officers coming into the Federal Civil Service with the rudiments of the basic structures, mandate of the ministry, processes, procedures and above all, shun all forms of corruption in the civil service.

He explained that there is not enough room for employment in the civil service and the only way youths can get employed is to create private sector programs.

“There are lots of programs that are coming up in the office of the acting president, specifically to train people that are employed and are they will also be given some money to establish a private business and that equally would create jobs for the unemployed.”

To this end, he encouraged youths to key into the programs for job opportunities rather than focus on formal jobs from the civil service.
