The Jigawa State Executive Council, on Wednesday,  approved the release of N360 million for the award of contract for the construction of 90  mosques in the state.

The state commissioner for information sports and culture, Alhaji Bala Ibrahim, announced this while briefing newsmen shortly after the meeting held at government house Dutse.

He explained that the ninety mosques would be constructed at thirty constituencies across the state.

According to him, three mosques will be constructed at each constituency for the religious use to the people in the state.

The commissioner maintained that the contract was awarded to various bidders certified by the Due Process and Project Monitoring Bureau in the state.

He added that during the meeting, council also considered and approved the contract for the construction of 2-Span Bridge on Gwaram- Basirka  Road at total cost of  N292,696,945.76.

Alhaji Bala ibrahim, said the contract was awarded to Messrs Alren Construction Company Limited.

He then urged the people of Jigawa to support the present administration for better change in the state.
