Nigerian international Alex Iwobi will travel with Arsenal for their pre-season tour of Singapore, new head coach Unai Emery has confirmed.
The Spaniard confirmed on Monday that Iwobi, Mesut Ozil, as well as Egypt midfielder Mohamed Elneny – who were also both eliminated from the World Cup at the group stage, will play a full part in the Singapore tour. The Gunners fly east on July 22.
‘All the players are the same,’ Emery told Arsenal Player.
‘They have the same holidays. I know Iwobi, Elneny and Mesut Ozil. He’s coming with us to Singapore the first day.’
Emery has already spoken openly about Ozil since his unveiling as Arsenal boss, and has offered the former Real Madrid man a fresh start at the Emirates.
He said: ‘We are here to help everyone and Mesut is very important.
‘Last year was difficult for everyone, not only Mesut. Now it’s a new way. Mesut is on holiday and I want him to be calm, then when he comes back to start hard.’
