Executive Director, Victim Support Fund (VSF), Dr. Sunday Ochoche said, on Monday, that the fund has concluded arrangement to start major reconstruction in Adamawa.

Ochoche made this known in Yola at the signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the fund and Adamawa Government on rehabilitation of Michika and Mubi General Hospitals to be sponsored by the fund at the cost of N40 million.

Ochoche said that the construction work would start with the rebuilding of Michika Local Government secretariat destroyed by Boko Haram insurgents.

“The major construction is to commence in Michika; we are starting with total reconstruction of the Local Government secretariat.

“The technical team put together has already done the design of the secretariat.

“We are now in the process of concluding the procurement for work to commence,” Ochoche said.

Ochoche said that in addition to the council secretariat, seven schools and a maternity clinic would also be reconstructed in Michika.

He also said that four schools in Madagali Local Government and three in Hong Local Government would also get attention this year.

On the Memorandum of Understanding signed with the state government for the rehabilitation of Michika and Mubi General Hospitals, Ochoche said that the rehabilitation would cover  provision of consumables, boreholes, ambulance and intensive care equipment.

Speaking at the occasion, Gov. Muhammadu Bindow  lauded VSF for its sustain support to Adamawa and pledged the state government support at all time.

“You are really helping the state, thank you for doing that much to Adamawa State,” Bindow said.

Highlights of the occasion was the presentation of N40 million cheque to Adamawa Government and the introduction of Mr Pirmah Rimdans by the director as the VSF Programmme Manager for the newly opened  VSF zonal office in Yola to cover Adamawa, Taraba and Gombe states. (NAN)
