Ahead of the supplementary election for the Imo North (Okigwe), slated for tomorrow, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Chief Athan Achonu has insisted that he won the election.
This was even as he alleged that the results were written at the Imo State Government House. He challenged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to prove him wrong by publishing the real results.
He also disclosed that the real results as declared at all the polling booths up to the wards in the senatorial zone have been sent to President Muhammadu Buhari, the national chairman of INEC and the United Nations.
Addressing newsmen yesterday in Ehime Mbano, Chief Achonu said the scheduled supplementary election by the INEC was a set up and insisted that he would not participate as it was clear that he had already won.
‘The idea of INEC scheduling a supplementary election is nothing but a set up because it is not possible for one to  participate in a supplementary election when he had already won in the previous one. So, the honourable thing to do is for INEC to publish the real results.
“We have already sent the real results announced at all the polling booths across the senatorial zone to President Buhari, the national chairman of INEC  and the United Nations for them to see that what the APC and INEC did on July  23 was a bare faced robbery and so, the President who is fighting a war against corruption should ask the INEC to publish the results,” he said.
Achonu disclosed that he would publish the authentic results of the elections tomorrow and challenged INEC to announce the results.
