Iceland fires warning shots at Eagles

Super Eagles group opponent at the forthcoming 2018  World Cup in Russia, Iceland made a bold statement as she whitewashed a selected side from Indonesia 6-0 in a tune up match played at Jakarta Stadium on Thursday.

The Scandinavian side came out blazing as goals from Andri Runar Bjarnson, Kjartan Finnbogason, Ottar Magnus Karlsson, Tryggvi Hrafn Haraldsson, Hjoertur Hermannsson and Holmar Oern Eyjolfsson gave the Iceland B team an emphatic win in the encounter.

Iceland is set to lock horns with the main Indonesian national team on Sunday in another test game.

The World Cup debutant has been grouped with Argentina, Nigeria and Croatia  in Group D of the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

The surprise package of Euro 2016 topped Group 1 of  her UEFA  qualifying group that comprised of  Croatia, Ukraine, Turkey, Finland and Kosovo.
