ROGERS Ofimi, the producer of trending TV series, Zone 222, which hit TV screens on June 1, has revealed that he got inspiration for the TV series 20 years ago when he was in the university after a close pal wrote a script entitled Love is Blind.

“I was so impressed and I liked it. I felt it was a great script and I told my friend that someday, I was going to serialise it. 20 years have rolled by and I have been holding unto the script and I am glad that at last, the dream has come true.

“The idea is to tell what happens in the university environment, the kind of students, overcrowded rooms. I just wanted to tell the story of what students go through on campus,” Ofimi added.

Commenting on what makes Zone 222 unique he continued? “I think it is that every individual can identify with it. We have five major characters. If you have gone through the university, you must identify with one of the characters. It is episodic and each episode has a message. Some are very hilarious though thought provoking while some are just comedy.”

To date, Ofimi has worked the likes of Tade Ogidan, Alex Mouth, Segun Giwa, Greg Fibresima, Solomon Macaulay, Titus Open among a host of others and his works include The Johnsons, Madam Dearest, One of Several, Hotel Majestic, Spinsters, Maid of Honor, How to Be Lola’s Husband, With Love, Tinsel, Oloibiri, Zone 222 and Prince of Spice.

Zone 222 features Kunle Bamtefa, Anthony Igwe, Patrick Diabuah, Papa Sam, Tomiwa Kukoyi, Muyiwa Donald, Eden Attai and Vanessa Ogboru.
