Thrown into mourning at the weekend when hoodlums stabbed a 23-year-old lady, Teamokat Dauda at Joseph Lewa Close, in Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State.

Daily Sun gathered that the inci- dent, which occurred at about 8pm, left Teamokat in a pool of blood, with battered ribs, while the hoodlums ran away and left her to die.

Luck however smiled on the victim, when a good Nigerian came and took her to Tadam Medical Centre, Old Air- port, Jos for emergency treatment.

It was gathered that beside the recent incident, three ladies were raped and stabbed on the same street between Monday and Wednesday last week by hoodlums. They also robbed the victims of their money and valuable items.

A resident of the area, Suleiman Ba- logun, said hoodlums had taken over the area.

According to him, “we don’t know what is happening in this area now; hoodlums have taken over the area. They are disrupting our peace between 7pm to 12 midnight daily and particu- larly at weekend. A woman cannot be outside by 8pm because she may be raped, stabbed and robbed of her valu- ables.

“Last week, a minor was sent to buy something by her parents. The hood- lums raped her and made away with a handset she was holding and money.

The recent case is that of a lady who was stabbed in her ribs and hand; we need the intervention of the Operation Safe Haven, State Police Commissioner and other security agencies to guarantee our lives and property.”

Police Public Relation Officer (PPRO) of Plateau State Police Command, ASP Tyopev Mat- thias Terna, said he was not aware of the incident.

He, however, said the com- mand had beefed up security within and outside the state capital, particularly now that the yuletide season is ap- proaching.
