Wole Balogun, Ado Ekiti

A heavy downpour disrupted the primary of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Ekiti, currently holding at the Oluyemi Kayode stadium in Ado Ekiti, the state capital.

The primary is being held for the July 14 governorship election.

The downpour began at exactly 12:01 noon when voting by delegates was supposed to commence.

It lasted for a whole hour, leaving 90 percent of all in attendance drenched.

The exercise had began as early as 8 a.m., with the accreditation of delegates, newsmen and party agents among others.

The disruption by the rain, which also exposed the poor infrastructural state of the stadium, delayed proceedings.

Many tags worn by delegates, journalists and party agents and aspirant were soaked in the rain.

However, despite the disruption, voting by delegates went ahead planned.
