A socio -cultural organisation, Ukomu Igala (Voice of Igala people), Kaduna State chapter has called on the National Assembly to address the alleged injustices being meted to the people of Kogi State, particularly Igala people by the Governor Yahaya Bello -led administration.

Rising from a meeting in Kaduna, the Interim Chairman of the organisation, Dr. Baba Ejiga, lamented the suffering and alleged impoverishment of Kogi people due to the nonpayment of workers’ salaries by the state government.

He stressed the need for the Igala nation to take its rightful place in the scheme of things in Kogi, adding that hope was rising until the unfortunate death of Prince Abubakar Audu, who was poised to win the 2015 governorship election.

He said time had come for the sons and daughters of Igala nation to take their destiny in their hands, instead of accepting “the dictation of a tiny minority in Kogi State”.

To actualise this, he called for unity among the Igalas home and in the Diaspora to forge ahead towards the growth and development of Igala land.

Dr. Ejiga, said the socio- cultural organisation  was formed to fill the leadership vacuum in Igalaland, as no individual or group was championing the cause of the people.
