It was indeed a night of glitz and glamour, as guests ravishingly dressed in colourful attires, stormed the Peace Achievers Award/Miss Ambassador for Peace Nigeria ceremony, which was held penultimate weekend at Transcorp Hilton, Abuja.

The event witnessed musical performances from different Abuja-based artistes including styplus. Also, Lagos-based singer, Face, electrified the hall with his powerful delivery while comedian Acapella took centre stage to crack jokes with his colleague, Ajebo. Also, Race; Philip Rennar; MC Taywaye and MC Bob thrilled guests.

During the pageantry side of the event, contestants showcased their talents and intellectual abilities. They also entertained guests with dance performances. At the last count, Nene Alagimenlen emerged as winners of Miss Ambassador for Peace Nigeria pageant, while Williams Ugochi Testimony was crowned as Miss Ambassador for Peace Africa.

Awards were given to distinguished personalities including GovernorAminu Bello Masari, Mrs. Elisabeth Jack-Rich Tein Jnr; Apostle Ejiofor Chinedu Emmanuel; His Royal Majesty King, Michel Ateke Tom JP; Mr. Emmanuel Akpakwu; CEO, Transcorp Hilton Abuja, Mr. Valentine Ozigbo; Mr. Haruna Bawa Waziri;

Others were Yusuf Chico Otuya; Henry Njoku; Mr. Richard Erepamo Akinaka; Paddy Emmanuel Iyamu; Mr. Sowemimi; Uju Kingsley Chima; Mr. Benneth Daniel (Acapella); Rahama Sadau and Orji Chibuzor Richard (Face) among others.

Speaking at the show, Project Director, Miss Ambassador for Peace Agency, Mr. Kingsley Amafibe, commended guests for identifying with his project, and for their continuous support over the years.

While congratulating his crew members for their hard work and consistency. Amafibe pointed out why his agency is aimed at building peace in the country through the Peace Education Project(PEP).

“Our society has been driven into a stage of abject poverty because of the extensive lack of proper education. Educating the youth has been our primary interest; we have set up outreach peace programmes in various schools to lend our voice to the Nigerian youths to acquire proper knowledge.

“Peace Achiever Awards is a private initiative of Peace Ambassador Agency to recognise individuals and organizations in Nigeria and Africa who have demonstrated strong commitment in serving their communities. Nonetheless, we are building a movement involving all sectors of the society, that promotes the unity of Nigeria, “he said.

Amafibe, also urged the recipients to be agents of positive change.

“As we celebrate United Nation Peace Day, we call on all stakeholders in different sectors to encourage initiative like this that create opportunities for the Nigerian youths”.

Also speaking, Dr. Mrs. Elisabeth Jack-Rich Tein Jnr, appreciated the organizers of the award. She dedicated the award to her husband, for been her pillar of strength and support to pilot the affairs of Elisabeth Jack Rich Aid Foundation.

In the same vein, Yusuf Chico Otuya congratulated fellow recipients and hailed Amafibe for the great initiative. He also dedicated the award to God, everyone who supported him in attaining destiny.
