An international non-governmental organisation,   the Ford Foundation, has entered into partnership with Abia State Government to promote Made-in-Aba at the global market.

This was disclosed, at the weekend, in Aba, by the representative of Ford Foundation in Nigeria, Prof. Paul Nwulu, during the official unveiling of the made-in-Aba Documentary/Logo organised by TBWA Connect.

Nwulu explained that Ford Foundation was inspired into partnering with Abia State government following the efforts and commitment already showcased by Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu and his government towards promoting entrepreneurship and commerce through the campaigns of made-in-Aba products.

Also speaking, the Managing Director of TBWA Connect, Kelechi Nwosu, said the essence of the partnership is to give ‘branding’ to made-in-Aba products at the global market.

He maintained that the global campaign would promote standard and innovations as well as create more jobs and revenue for the state.

The governor of Abia State, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu commended Ford Foundation and TBWA Connect for partnering with his administration to make Aba the economic and manufacturing hub of the nation.

He reiterated that Nigeria as a nation cannot overcome its present economic challenges without providing the enablement that will promote made-in-Aba products within the country and at the global market.

Highlight of the event was the unveiling of documentaries on the production of shoes, garment and fabrication of agro-allied machines.
