Over 110,000 people have been displaced with over 2000 houses affected by flood in Benue state.

Chief Press Secretary to the state Governor, Samuel Ortom, Terver Akase who disclosed this said the figure was released by the Benue State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA).

Akase who spoke in a telephone chat with our correspondent, Friday said already, the state governor had directed that two internally displaced persons IDP camps be set up to accommodate flood victims who have nowhere else to go.

The two IDP camps according to the CPS are Makurdi International Market and another one in North Bank area of the state.

Akase commended the President Muhammadu Buhari led federal government for directing the National Emergency Management Agency to move to Benue.
