Nigeria U-20 women team will leave for South Africa today ahead of Saturday’s U20 Women’s World Cup qualifying clash.
The Nigerian delegation will depart the nation’s capital to Lagos before flying out via Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport to Johannesburg same day.
The Falconets have been training in Abuja since December 19 and played four test matches with wins against Heart FC, Camp United Academy and Super Lion and a draw.
They will be hoping to silence Basetsana in the final round of the qualifiers to book a spot in this year’s U20 Women’s World Cup in France.
Earlier, the team defeated Tanzania and Morocco to reach the final stage and will be hoping to make it 12 wins in all 12 encounters against South Africa.
The first leg of the qualifier will take place at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane on January 13, and the reverse fixture two weeks later in Benin City.
The eventual winner over two legs will represent Africa at the international women’s youth showpiece in the European nation billed to hold from August 5-24, 2018.
