World Football ruling body, FIFA, yesterday  slammed worldwide bans on Christopher Giwa and his four disciples.

The NFF  Disciplinary Committee  had on 12 May 2016  dished out a five year ban on Giwa alongside Muazu Suleyman, Yahaya Adama, Sani Fema and Johnson Effiong for breaches of the NFF Statutes and the FIFA Code of Ethics.

Chairman of the FIFA Disciplinary Committee  in accordance with article 136ff of the FIFA Disciplinary Code,  decided to extend the five-year ban on Giwa and his men to a world wide effect.

As it stands ,Giwa and the four others are barred from taking part in any kind of football-related activities  worldwide .

According to FIFA, all the relevant member associations, as well as  the Confederation of African Football  had been duly notified of the chairman’s decision.

Meanwhile, FIFA had directed members of the media with questions relating to the substance of the decision to contact the NFF.

It would be recalled that Giwa, and  his supporters on June 3, 2016 invaded  Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), secretariat in a bid  to take over from Amaju Pinnick, who  is duly recognised by FIFA as the head of Nigerian Football.
