FIFA Secretary General, Fatma Samba Diouf Samoura is expected to grace the finals of the African Beach Soccer Nations Cup , even as Lagos State  has reaffirmed her  readiness to host the Continent come December 13 to 18.
Nigeria is in Group A alongside  Egypt, Ghana and Cote d’Ivoire, while Morocco, Madagascar, Senegal and Libya are in Group B.
Speaking during the unveiling of the tournament billed to take place at the Eko Atlantic City,  Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Steve Ayorinde, said the state is ready to showcase the best of her hospitality to Africa.
“As host, Lagos is ready for the Beach Soccer Nations Cup.
“Sports have been very important to Governor Akinwunmi Ambode’s government. You recall that we recently signed an agreement with FC Barcelona for FC BESCOLA Academy, which is the first in Africa.
“We are building five new stadia across the divisions of the state to utilize the abundant talents in the state,” Ayorinde said.
Also speaking at the event, the Co-chairman of the Committee and Special Adviser to the Governor on Sports, Mr. Deji Tinubu, said he was fortunate to be working for someone who has passion for sports.
“We are hosting the tournament to showcase the excellence of Lagos. It is going to be five days of fantastic beach football action.   The Governor wants Lagos State to be a preferred destination for sports and entertainment. This is the beginning of great things to come,” he said.
