… As student, pensioner, others win N15m at GAIM reloaded promo

The Managing Director of Fidelity Bank Plc, Mr. Nnamdi Okonkwo, has pledged the commitment of the bank to the Federal Government’s economic diversification just as an undergraduate, Miracle Kanayo, and a pensioner, Abimbola Awoyo, were among the lucky customers that won N15 million at the first draw of the bank’s Get Alert in Millions (GAIM) Promo Reloaded last Thursday in Lagos.

According to Okonkwo, who gave the pledge in his address at the bank’s special day at the just-concluded Lagos International Trade Fair, the country’s monolithic economy could be successfully diversified through the empowerment of the Micro, Small and Medium-scale Enterprises (MSMEs).

Okonkwo explained that the various products and services being offered by the bank to businesses are meant to address the needs of its individual and corporate customers.

The Fidelity Bank boss, who was represented by the Executive Director, Shared Services and Products, Mrs. Chijioke Ugochukwu, said, “our efforts aimed at aiding diversification of the country’s monolithic economy have been celebrated all over.

“Interestingly, we have continued to channel significant human and financial resources into the real sector, particularly in the area of manufacturing, food and beverages as well as independent power projects.”

Earlier, the President, Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), Mrs. Nike Akande, praised the bank for being a leading technology-driven and SMEs-focused bank with innovative products and services that drive financial inclusion, entrepreneurship development and ease of transactions.

On the GAIM Reloaded, Okonkwo explained that it is the bank’s second promo in 10 years. “And by far, the biggest and the best ever brought to the market,” he added.

Also speaking through Mrs. Ugochukwu, the bank chief said the promo is reloaded because something heavy is added to it in form of N10 million grand prize.

“We have had cash win of N3 million, N2 million and N1 million. But we’ve reloaded it with cash win of N10 million and additional consolation prizes. We want the effect of this promo to be felt widely and we want the impact to be heavier than it has ever been before,” he said.

In terms of the targeted account holders, Okonkwo said he is looking at significant increase in the current customer base. “In terms of diversity, we are open to children, parents, grandparents. Today alone, winners from seven zones have emerged with the sum of N15 million, 18 consolation prizes of television sets, refrigerators and generators have also been given out.

“This is a time when we feel that empowerment is of the essence; that is why we deliberately started it ahead of the year end when we know that everybody needs something a little extra.”
