The Federal Government has re-constituted Ministerial SERVICOM Committee, with a charge to play a crucial role in entrenching the change mantra of the President Muhammadu Buhari Administration.
The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Winifred Oyo-Ita,  called on the members of committee to ensure that all Federal Civil Servants in the country beginning with her office imbibe the culture of being efficient, productive, Incorruptible and citizen-centred in the provision of services to Nigerians.
She made the call during the inaugural ceremony of the re- constituted Ministerial Service Committee (MSC) in the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation held in her office in Abuja.
Mrs. Oyo-Ita said that in a bold move to re-invigorate SERVICOM, the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation and the SERVICOM Headquarters, held the first National Policy Dialogue on strategies for improving service delivery in Government Parastatals, Agencies and Commissions last month, on with a view to garner stakeholders’ imputes to support SERVICOM and its operations in the MDAs.
According to her, the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation under her watch articulated a strategy that will re-orientate the Civil Service to an enviable height as the machinery for implementation of government policies and programs in the most efficient manner.
Oyo-Ita said that, the 2017-2019 Strategy Work Plan launched and unveiled by Vice President  Yemi Osibanjo in February, placed a great concern by Government to redirect the Civil Service for better service delivery to Nigerians.
Mrs Oyo-Ita further stated that, the goal one of the strategy document unveiled a new ethos for the service couched in the acronym “EPIC”, which implies, Efficient, Productive, Incorruptible and Citizen- Centered Civil Service.
The EPIC ethos, according to her, “is to be attained in part through a programme of culture change that will leverage on the re-invigoration and transformation of SERVICOM for Citizen-Centred Service. This initiative will emphasize the core values of the Civil Service such as meritocracy, helpfulness, transparency, professionalism, anonymity, integrity, discipline, impartiality, political neutrality, patriotism and accountability”, she said.
The Acting National Coordinator SERVICOM Office, Mrs. Nnenna Akajemeli, in her remarks said that the reconstitution of the Ministerial committee will not only ensure the institutionalization of SERVICOM ideals in the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, but it will also lead to the entrenchment of a culture of change and re-orientation of Civil Servants service-wide.
