A former minister of aviation, Femi Fani- Kayode, was at the Federal High court in Lagos for his trial on alleged money laundry on Monday, January, 16.

Fani-Kayode, who was the director of media and publicity in the campaign organisation of ex-president Goodluck Jonathan is facing 17 counts of money laundering before the Lagos division of the court along with a former finance minister, Nenadi Usman, Danjuma Yusuf and a firm, Joint Trust Dimension Nig. Ltd.

They were charged with unlawful retention, unlawful use and unlawful payment of money to the tune of N4.9bn.

In other news, Femi Fani-Kayode has condemned government’s interference with activities of churches.

Fani-Kayode speaking on the recent resignation of the General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, said the Nigerian government is bent on attacking churches.

The former minister’s statement comes after the Federal Government released a new Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria (FRCN) law moderating the activities of houses of worships and their leaders.
