The Chief Executive Officer ( CEO) of stadium construction outfit, Monimichelle, Ebi Egbe has expressed joy over the bright chances of Enyimba picking a continental ticket from the NPFL this season.
Enyimba over the weekend secured a draw away in Enugu against Rangers, a result that has brightened the club’s chances of finishing the league in the top bracket and picking either a CAF champions league or CAF Confederation Cup ticket for next season.
Speaking on the performance of Enyimba, Egbe whose outfit is re grassing the Enyimba fortress in Aba said he is happy the club is finishing the season on a good note with a return to the continent loading.
“It would be great to see Enyimba stage a return to the continent at a time when they would be boasting of a world class turf. God willing, the new FIFA approved geo technology turf we are constructing at their stadium would be ready for use by the time they hit the continent. The pitch would be a good advertisement for Nigerian football,” Egbe said.
Egbe stressed that the biggest challenge facing Nigerian football is that of bad pitches, even as he called on both the state and federal governments to ensure that the various stadia in the country have good pitches.
“I just hope other state governments and the federal government would emulate the Abia state government and construct good pitches. What makes a good stadium is first and foremost the pitch,” Egbe said.
