From Sola Ojo, Kaduna

AS the two weeks ultimatum given to release leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN), Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky expired yesterday, members said they will storm the Federal Capital Territory in millions to register their grievance.
The Save Zakzaky’s Life Group of Nigeria has issued several ultimatum to release their leader and his wife in order for them to get quality medical attention.
Zakzaky and his wife have been in “safe custody” of the Derpartment of State Security (DSS) shortly after the bloody clash between the sect and men of Nigerian Army in Zaria, Kaduna State, last year.
The group, in a statement signed by its National Coordinator, Bashir Mafara, in Kaduna, yesterday ,said millions of their members will go to Abuja “to sit around” until their leader, wife and other arrested members are released unconditionally.
“Until now, several calls were made to government by well-meaning individuals, within and outside Nigeria to release him, since  the DSS testified that he is not guilty whatsoever.
“According to them, they are only giving him protection against some people attempting to harm him.
“As we always ask: why has government failed to release Zakzaky, since it testified through the DSS that he isn’t guilty? Why these injustice against him, despite the fact that he is desperately in need of absolute and complete special medical care?
“Why is government interested in the continued detention of an illustrious Nigerian citizen, peace lover, with sense of humanity and foresight?”
