Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State, on Wednesday, made a U-turn on his earlier decision to allow God choose his successor, ahead of the gubernatorial poll in the state next year.

Instead, Governor Fayose has endorsed his deputy, Olusola Kolapo, as his successor on the banner of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.

Recall that Governor Fayode had, on Tuesday, assured a group of party faitful who called at his Afao-Ekiti country home that he would only allow God to choose a befitting candidate for himself and the party for the election and had said no candidate would be imposed by him.

But in dramatic turn, the governor’s deputy  was endorsed as sole candidate of the Fayose’s loyalists who were described as critical stakeholders of the party from the 177 wards of the state.

While other aspirants on the party’s platform have dismissed the development, loyalists to Fayose have hailed the decision, saying tbe governor enjoyed their support.
