Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, has assured that no politician defecting from any political party to the PDP would be discriminated against or treated as a new comer.
Addressing a crowd of supporters in Benin during his campaign tour of Edo South Senatorial District, Ize-Iyamu called on all those that have so far defected from the APC to the PDP and those willing to do same not to entertain fear of any form of discrimination.
“Unlike the APC, our party, the PDP, does not operate a one-man show administration in this state or in any of the states under its control. Our leaders look at themselves as heads among equals and so you are free to join us and take your proper place. We are all equal and nobody will treat you as a second-class member of the party”, he said.
He advised all well-meaning politicians and voters in the state to join hands with the PDP in the quest to rescue the state from the clutches of a deceitful government headed by Adams Oshiomhole.
The PDP governorship hopeful alleged that the administration of the state under Governor Oshiomhole has gone bizarre and fast decaying, adding that unless drastic steps were taken by the people to bring APC administration to an end, a total collapse of the state was imminent.
He drew the attention of the people to the current situation where some civil servants, particularly local government council workers, were being owed arrears of salary, saying that that alone, was a pointer to the fact that the state was fast dying.
Ize-Iyamu who said he was coming in as governor in order to make the state a centre of excellence, promised to touch all sectors of the economy to make the people feel the presence of government.
He said copies of his SIMPLE Agenda (manifesto) were available for keeps and study by the people of Edo State, adding that the document was not a deceitful one and that Edo people were free to challenge him if he was derailing from the document.
