Parents of a three-year-old boy, Chiagozie, who was slain in Isheri-Osun area of Lagos, are still in grief. It is hard to fully understand the pain of Mr. and Mrs. Augustine Okeleke, who are still mourning, after the dastardly act. Now they have alleged that some strangers were threatening them in a bid to let the matter rest.

The couple’s son was allegedly, murdered in gruesome circumstances by a Muslim cleric, Kazeem Alimson, also known as Alfa. The couple claims that the suspect committed the act for ritual purposes.

Shortly after the incident happened, the distraught couple, filled with grief, promptly reported the matter to the police at Isheri-Osun Police Station and cops commenced investigations.

However Augustine Okeleke and his wife, Chinasa, have alleged that while they were on their way home after lodging the report that night, they were further traumatised by some stranger who threatened to wipe out the entire family, leaving them scared.  The couple said when they returned home that night, they saw three men hanging around their compound, Plot 16, Fagbile Boundary, White-Sand, Iseri-Osun.

“We came back that day about 11pm,” Mrs. Okeleke recalled, “As we were entering the house, we saw three men on a motorbike, which had no number plate. They flashed the headlight of their bike directly at my husband, and began to threaten us. They warned that, if anything should happen to the suspect at the police station, they would avenge him by coming here to wipe out the rest of our family.”

The woman said she was suffering the pain and trauma of the loss of her last child in a horrific manner, and mental torture. She disclosed that the suspect had boasted about the dastardly act, stating that he was a member of a dreaded cult group.

“He boasted that that he was powerfully connected and that he would soon be released from police custody in no time.

“All I want now is justice for my little child who was innocent when he was murdered. His death is still strange to me. Now imagine what it feels for the suspect to threaten to annihilate the rest of us.

“We’re not only sad because of the death of our son, but fearing for our lives. Look at our house, it is such an open place; we don’t have any form of security.

“We are pleading to Governor Akinwunmi Ambode and the Lagos State police command to help us,” she said amid sobs.

As earlier reported, little Chiagozie was lured from his mother by a neighbour, Simon Kanu, who alleged that he was paid the sum of N500 by Alimson to bring the little boy. Kanu disclosed that he witnessed how Alimson killed Chiagozie by hitting him three times on the head with a heavy stone.

During interrogation, Kanu, a 15-year-old Primary Six pupil, disclosed that the Alfa took him and little Chiagozie to an uncompleted building, where the boy was murdered with a heavy stone. According to Kanu, Alimson tied up Chiagozie, made some incantations before hitting him three times with a big stone.

Police said the suspect was in detention while investigations into the incident were ongoing.
