League of Veteran Journalists, Plateau State chapter, has urged President Muhammadu Buhari, to commit 80 percent of the recovered looted funds, to the resuscitation of moribund industries in the country.

In a press statement signed by the Chairman, Dr. Gideon Barde and Secretary, Hon. Tunde Oladapo, said the recovered fund should also be channel into development of agriculture, Education and Health sector to provide the needed change for Nigerians.

“We want President Muhammadu Buhari to adopt a template whereby 80 percent of money realise through whistle blowing policy and corrupt politicians to be channel for revitalization of moribund  industries in the country.”

According to the group, judicious usage of looted funds recovered from politicians will ease the burden of youths unemployment, poverty and hardship currently face in the country.

The group commended Buhari for purging his administration by suspending Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr. Babachir David Lawal and Director General, National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Mr. Wole Oke and urged him to beam his searchlight towards flushing out the cabals that have held his government to ransom.

The Veterans added that more revelations would be discover if Federal Government intensify the whistle blowing policies and keep in confidence the status of the whistle blowers.

They commended the resilience of Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong, in the fight against corruption and channeling scarce resources towards resuscitating ailing industries to boost employment and wealth creation in the state.

Dr. Barde said the recent cultural Carnival  initiated by Lalong after ban for several years is an indication that peace has returned to the state.
