Diehard Boko Haram members will soon pay the price of their stubbornness as the counter-insurgency operation enters another phase, Theatre Commander Operation, Lafiya Dole, Maj. Gen Lucky Irabor said.

Irabor while delivering a goodwill message at the launching of school and donation of medical items to wounded soldiers by the Nigerian Army Officers Wives Association (NAOWA) 7 Division Chapter in Maiduguri yesterday said the military was ready to welcome any insurgents ready to surrender.

“We are still extending the Olive Branch to any Boko Haram who is ready to lay down his arms but I can assure you that non repentant insurgents will pay the price of their stubbornness as we will not spare them in this battle,” Irabor declared in a tough tone.

President of NAOWA, 7 Division Chapter, Mrs Appolonia Ezugwu said the organization was presenting the medical items to the wounded troops as a show of soliidarity to the gallant soldiers who have sacrificed to keep Nigeria together.

She said the occasion was also to remember officers and soldiers who – have paid supreme price in the counter-insurgency operation. She said the officers’ wives would enternaly be grateful to the wounded soldiers for their sacrifices.

NAOWA National President and wife of the Chief of Army Staff, Mrs Katumi Buratai who was represented by the wife of the Theatre Commander, Mrs Victorial Irabor lauded the contribution of the troops of the 7 Division to end Boko Haram. She thereafter laid the foundation id the NAOWA Nursery and Primary school within the cantonment.
