Former minister of Petroleum Resources, Prof Tam David-West has clarified a statement earlier attributed to him, on the support given the campaign and election of President Muhammadu Buhari in 2015, by former Lagos State governor and national leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
David-West said contrary to claims credited to him in Saturday Sun of May 13, 2017, that Tinubu didn’t fund Buhari’s campaign, he actually meant that the party leader contributed immensely to the election of president Buhari and still supports his government.
The outspoken and respected professor of virology said his statement must have been taken out of context in the initial report because he holds Tinubu in high esteem and would not say anything that will undermine the enormous contributions of the party’s leader to the enthronement of Buhari’s government.
