The senior pastor of The Worship Centre, Pastor Seyi Adeyemi has condemned the killing of the innocent people by the herdsmen in Benue State and some other parts of the country, calling for the arrest and prosecution of the perpetrators:
“Nobody has the right to take another man’s life. It is highly condemnable. Every reasonable person must rise up to fight against it. This is an organised country that has constitution. The perpetrators of Benue killings should be fished out and dealt with, anybody that has grievances should approach the law rather than engaging in killing of fellow human being.
“This act is condemnable and we are tasking government to rise up and curtail the activities of the herdsmen to end the constant killing of the innocent people. God is a God of justice; He will judge everybody based on what he has done. I know our president is a lover of peace, he is not in support of killing of the people, therefore he will deal with the perpetrators of Benue and some other part of the country’s killing. I believe President Muhammadu Buhari is the father of everybody in this country.”
Pastor Adeyemi was speaking at the grand finale of the eighth year anniversary thanksgiving of the Church tagged: “Eyes on Eternity,” which took place on Sunday at the premises of the church at Oregun, Ikeja, Lagos.
He said the killings negated the will of God. He quoted the Bible that he who kills by the sword would die by the sword and if the Federal Government fails to do justice in the case, God has a way through which the perpetrators would be dealt with, but that it will go a long way in redeeming the image of the Federal Government.
He called on the three tiers of government to make the safety of the lives and property of the citizen a priority; saying without people there can never be any government.
