Civil War: Why Army was soft on Biafrans – President Buhari

  • Praises Gowon for ordering military restraint

Juliana Taiwo-Obalonye, Abuja

President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday spoke on why the Nigerian Army was soft on Biafrans during the Civil War.

According to the President, they had strict and formal instructions to exercise restraint against Biafrans during the three-year conflict between 1967 and 1970.

He recalled that every military commander was issued instructions in dispatches handed to them from then Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon, that Biafrans were not enemies but brothers and sisters to other Nigerians.

The President spoke at the Aso Rock Villa during his investiture as Grand Patron of the Nigerian Red Cross Society (NRCS), where he promised to assist the organisation secure permanent office accommodations in Abuja.

Buhari praised Gowon for the clement gesture he described, and also the role of the Red Cross in bringing succour to victims of the war, even in dangerous circumstances, noting that the pathetic pictures of war-ravaged Biafrans were always heartrending.

“Earlier in my profession, during the Civil War, I know how much sacrifice members of the Nigerian Red Cross and their international counterparts did, both in the real front of operations and at the rear, on both sides. I think it is a lot of sacrifices, because anything can happen to you in the operational areas,” the President said.

“The risks they faced were real and I admire their courage and commitment to helping people who were in distress and were virtually in millions. Those photographs of people from the Biafra enclave spoke a lot.

“I remember with nostalgia the performance of the Commander-in-Chief, General Gowon. Every commander was given a copy of the Commander-in-Chief’s instructions that we were not fighting enemies, but that we were fighting our brothers. And thus, people were constrained to show a lot of restraint.

“The international observer teams were allowed to go as far as possible within and outside the front, and I think this was generous and very considerate of General Gowon. He is a highly committed Nigerian.”

On his promise to assist the organisation secure permanent office accommodations in Abuja, Buhari said, “I have taken note of your logistics, especially your request for office here.

“I assure you that the government will do its best when you decide to build such facilities in terms of securing an area here within the Federal Capital Territory, and we hope you will not do the Nigerian ways of doing things.

“To use the words of a famous Nigerian Minister: ‘I hope you will not build an elephantine headquarters’ [but one] which is going to be functional because we have seen your activities throughout the country,” he said.

In his remarks, the head of delegation and National President of the NRCS, Chief Bolaji Anani, said the organization has over 800,000 trained volunteers based in communities across the 774 local government areas of the federation.

He petitioned the President to assent to the bill amending the Red Cross Act of 1960, whenever the National Assembly, which is debating it, eventually gives its approval. The Act has not been reviewed since it was passed in 1960.

“A review is long overdue. We note with pleasure that the current National Assembly is in the process of doing that. In fact, the revision has already undergone public hearing.

“We hope when the revised bill is passed by the National Assembly it will be graciously assented to by Mr. President,” Anani said.

He further appealed to President Buhari to restore federal government grants, subventions and programme support to the society to enable it discharge its mandate diligently.

Among other petitions Anani requested were operational vehicles for ease of the work, restoration of annual grants from the federal government, and special government recognition and awards to Red Cross officials and volunteers who have exceeded in service or even paid the ultimate price in service to the fatherland and humanity, in a bid to motivate more humanitarian gestures.

Anani lamented that the Nigerian Red Cross has been operating from rented premises since it moved its headquarters from Lagos to Abuja, with inadequate space to store relief materials and equipment.

NCRS is the Nigerian arm of the global humanitarian Red Cross and and Red Crescent Movement present in over 193 countries, and played a major role in providing relief materials to beleaguered and starving Biafrans during the Nigerian Civil War when Nigeria’s Southeast and South-South sought independence from the rest of the country.

So an insult of the empty noise maker of fulani fraudulent criminal sultanate political government with its emirates under the dead fraudulent political name Nigeria parading himself as Buhari. The world of 1967 fought against Biafra Republic. The world of 1967 begged Biafra to end the war because they were ashamed of fighting Biafrans who fought with tenacity in a very little territory as Martin Meredith rightly emphasized. Bifrans successfully established the Liberation Foundation which the fulfillment has come under the natives Disintegrated Republics- Biafra Republic of south east, Niger Delta Republic of south south, Oduduwa Republics of south west, North East Republic, North West Republic, North Central Republic. We’re there again with the Sword. Let this 21st century world fight for fulani fraudulent criminal sultanate political government with its emirates under the dead fraudulent political name Nigeria again. The way the world of 1967 of 20th century world could not prevent the Liberation Foundation establishment, so has the present world of British bandits and fraudulent criminal America complicit and collaborators of fulani fraudulent criminal sultanate political government with its emirates under the dead fraudulent political name Nigeria can never prevent the Liberation Fulfillment under the natives Disintegrated Republics which the final conquest began May 30 2018 to finish in Sokoto. God is the fulfillment. God given Victory is the natives’. Only the Sword decides. God Is With Us!!!

Does not the President have Advisers or people who moderate his speeches. He has not hidden his dislike for the Igbo man. Any opportunity he has he uses it to express his open dislike for them. He was telling the whole world that the Nigerian army was light on the Igbos during the war and more than 1 million persons were killed. Assuming the army was not light on them; probably the army, which he was part of, would have wiped off the people from the surface of the earth. A clear statement of one who speaks before he reasons.

The Igbos are like the present day Israel, the more you oppress them, the more they get stronger and more resolute. Let him not think he can kill all the Igbos with all his military might. No. Unless God is not alife. He is a human being – not just a human but one with lower sense of reasoning. If the president can say that the army was soft on Biafrans during the civil war, then he does not, again, mean well for the Igbo man. He has always thought bad of them and has, once again, voiced it out.

People like Uzor kalu, Ngige, Onu, etc, who think that they have found a friend in Mr President should know that a lion will continue to play with goat so long as the lion is not hungry. As soon as the lion becomes hungry, it has a ready food in the goat. Long live Igbos,

President Muhammadu Buhari is indeed a pathological liar.
One might be tempted to ask why this bloody fucking liar,Mallam Muhammadu Buhari, did shun the late
Justice Chukwudife Akunne Oputa’s Panel on the inhuman and heinous atrocities, which the Nigerian Armed Forces committed against the people of Biafra during the Biafran-Nigerian War?
Quite contrary to President Buhari’s assertion that the Nigerian Army of vandals and morons, under the
Commmand of Pol Pot Yakubu Gowon, were soft on us Biafrans, they (the Nigerian Army) indeed murdered in cold blood unarmed Biafran children, men and women, and killed in battles over a million Biafrans.
Furthermore, over 2 million children and elderly Biafrans were made to starve to death because of air-land and sea blockade of our then Sovereign Independent State of Biafra.
The Biafran-Nigerian War of 1967-1970 was indeed a War of Genocide against us Christian Biafrans, which was sponsored by Arch-Imprialist Britain, assisted by the Revisionist Soviet Union, East Germany,Reactionary
Arab muslim States and some OAU Member States.
Where was Mallam Buhari when his Fulani kinsman,Gen.Murtalla Muhammadu entered our then Republic of Benin with the Second Division of the Nigerian Army under his command? Gen. Muhammadu did appeal to the Benins to help the Nigerian Army to exterminate Igbo males in Midwestern Nigeria.
Responding to to that Gen.Murtalla Muhammadu’s appeal, the Edos within 48 hours drenched Beninland with
innocent blood of over 10 thousand Igbos.Among the victims were also the so called,Ika Igbos of Western Nigeria, who were citizens of Midwest and some of the victims were mere six year old boys.
Where was Mallam Buhari on the 7th October 1967,when in the City of Asaba, ( the current Capital of Delta State ) the psychopathic mass muderer, Murtalla Muhammadu roundered up 85 innocent children and men,
who had come out to welcome him and his Second Division of the Nigerian Army in Asaba, and had them
summamarily slaghtered like cattle and in cold blood.
An Irish Roman Catholic Priest, who bore a witness to that barbaric massacre and later organised the mass
burial of the innocent victims, did also take photographs of the that heinous crime against humanity.
A week later, when Gen.Murtalla Muhammadu, his Officers and Men of the Second Division of the Nigerian Army crossed the Niger River to Onitsha, there another sanguine mass murder of innocent and unarmed Biafrans took place.
At the behest of Mallam Muhammadu Buhari’s Fulani kinsman,Murtalla Muhammadu,a Congregation of
Christian Worshippers was forced out from a Church. Exactly,350 males were separated from the females.
They were lined up and summarily executed by a firing squad of Nigerian Army of vandals and morons.
Today, the name of that psychopathic Igbo-mass-murderer, Murtallla Muhammadu, graces our International Airport at Ikeja,Lagos and his obnoxious image does today contaminated our currencies.
What a collective insult to us Ndigbo and to humanity in general.! What a slur indeed, over the memories of those Igbo victims of Murtalla Muhammadu ordered mass murders.
In a civilized clime,we do refer to such dasfardly , barbaric , heinous and wicked acts against humankind,as ”a blot on the escutcheon of mankind.”
Somebody out there, especially those advisers of President Buhari should better call on their Principal to be
circumspect about opening some stiil festering old wounds of the Biafran-Nigerian War.
There are lots of us veterans and sleepinng Lions of Biafra, who because of our Christian upbrings would like
to forget and forgive our Nigerian enemies like Buhari.
But out there are lots of us,who with the current events in the polity, might want to take our due pound of flesh,
    which is currently overdue.
Our message is that we Biafran Veterans aint gonna let our children and possterity be silly vassals to President Buhari and his Fulani cattle driver alein sojourners of the North.
    No never!
Our ancestors survived slavery and our grand parents and parents endured British Colonialism.
It is about time President Buhari and his catlle driver Fulani folks buried their dream of Isamizing our Fatherland and making Nigerian their Usman Dan Fodio Estate.
The Fulanis are nomore Nigerians than the Afrikaans (Boars) are South Africans.
Apartheid is nomore in South Africa.
The tiime has come for the Fulanis to dismantle their anachronistic Caliphat of Sokoto,to abrogate their Sharia
imposition upon us Indigenous Nigerian Christians, and to pull our country out of our OIC, C8 and C15
Unless the Fulanis and their Hausa/Kanuri muslim mongrels accept wholeheartedly the Secularity of our
Commonwealth Republic of Nigeria and agree to the restructuring of Nigeria into 6 Geo–political Zones with
a devolution of power cum a 100% Resources Control, then our unity as a united country will be absolutely
The alternative for us Biafrans will be yet another war and of course our eventual break up like the Yugoslaves.
But we can still go our fucking separate ways without a war because ,we Indigenous Nigerians share absolutely
nothing in common with Buhari and his barbaric and bellicose Fulani cattle driver folks.
No to the status quo ante bellum!
    Down with Hausa/Fulani/Kanuri Islamic Hegemony!!
All Hail Biafra, the Land of the rising Sun!!!
