After a statement from Faryal Makhdoom, Amir Khan’s wife, following reports of her cheating with Anthony Joshua, it looks as if the situation has been resolved.

Last week, Twitter went crazy in regards to cheating accusations presented by boxing champion Amir Khan about his wife Faryal Makhdoom and fellow boxing champion, Anthony Joshua. It was a swarm of tweets between the fighters, without hearing from Makhdoom herself. On Monday night, Makhdoom broke her silence on Twitter to explain the situation between herself, Khan and Joshua. As a lot of stories in the celebrity world seem too good, or bad, to be true, this story seems to fall in that category according to Makhdoom.

“I’ve been quiet for some time… because I myself didn’t know what’s going on. Everything that’s going on is just not right and a complete misunderstanding,” Makhdoom stated on Twitter.  “The screenshots sent to Amir were ‘fake’ and Amir thought Joshua and I were speaking… when we have never even met,” she wrote. “Anger took the better of him and he tweeted away without thinking there was absolutely NO truth to it.

“It’s all cleared up with both teams now and again, there was NOTHING like that going on. Apologies for all this nonsense. Let’s get on with life now…”

Khan would respond via Twitter following his wife’s response, tagging Joshua in the post, while wishing the heavyweight champion well in the future.

Joshua would also respond to Makhdoom’s, as well as Khan’s, tweets about the situation. Joshua, who defeated Wladimir Klitschko via 11th round knockout back in May, has accepted the apologies and is ready to put this all behind him.

Khan’s last appearance inside the boxing ring was back in May 2016, when he was defeated by Canelo Alvarez via 6th round KO, losing his WBC middleweight title. It was rumored that he would face Manny Pacquiao earlier this year, but the fight never came to fruition, with Pacquiao facing, and losing a controversial decision, to Jeff Horn on April 23.
