Super Eagles handler Gernot Rohr has attributed the draw against the Amavubi Stars of Rwanda to the long NPFL break.
The Franco-German who is on ground to observe the team, stressed that the long period without competitive action affected the sharpness of the Salisu Yusuf led team.
According to him, “The inactivity of the players during the break was a major cause of the rustiness of the team.”
Rohr in a chat with Brila FM expressed optimism that the Eagles can grow into the competition and even progress beyond the group stage.
“I strongly believe that the team would get better as the tournament progresses and would give Nigerians a lot to smile about.
“The CHAN Eagles currently stand in second position in group C with a point, two behind tomorrow’s opponent, Libya.
