The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), on Tuesday, described the Personal Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Social Media, Lauretta Onochie, as a ‘prodigal child’ that has missed her relevance.
Onochie was recently reported to have written an open letter to the CAN President, Rev. Samson Olasupo Ayokunle, accusing him of being corrupt and running down CAN and its affiliates.
The name-calling by CAN was in response to a passage of the letter which claimed that CAN unending accusation of nepotism and sectionalism by the President was untrue and politically motivated.

Northern CAN, in a statement released, in Abuja by its spokesman, Rev. John Hayab, indicated that “Nigerians are no more fools and could no longer be misguided by despicable characters who have strayed into the corridors of power.”
The statement added, “We are shocked and appalled at Onochie’s claim that appointments and official dealings by the President in the past few years have been based on merit. That was untrue and everyone could see it.”
It advised the president not to turn deaf ears to the voice of wisdom, but give Nigerians sense of belonging, irrespective of religious, ethnic and political affiliations.
